Up-Close Animal Encounters | Science on the Bayshore

Jul 23, 2021 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm

Learn about some of the animals that live in the Delaware Bay using our touch tank! During this workshop, we will be exploring the “catch of the day”, a variety of animals that have been caught in the Delaware Bay by the AJ Meerwald crew. Students will get an up-close and personal view of a variety of different creatures, which may include oysters, terrapins, horseshoe crabs, blue claw crabs, cusk eels, white perch, hog chokers, and many others! Animal selection varies since we never know what we’re going to catch!

Join us on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays for Science on the Bayshore at the Bayshore Center at Bivalve! During these workshops, we will be teaching bite-sized, hands-on, fun lessons about the Bayshore.

  • Registration is easy! Sign up here!
  • Workshops are free! There is no cost to you!
  • All lessons are hands-on
  • All ages are welcome, but lessons are best suited for ages 8+.
  • Workshops occur rain or shine and may be outdoors, so please dress appropriately!
  • Attend 6 or more workshops to earn your Junior Bayshore Biologist certificate!
