“Journal of a 19th Century Sailor’s Life”

Step back in time with Jack Brooks, who will share the fascinating story of his Great Great Grandfather, Captain Elijah Price of Bargaintown, NJ.

Captain Price began his sailing career in 1850 aboard the family schooner EMPIRE. Trained as a teacher, his logbooks are filled with detailed accounts, humor, and insight into the daily life, التجارة, and culture of sailors in the mid-to-late 1800s.

Through preserved journals and family artifacts, Jack brings this rich South Jersey maritime history to life in a way that is both educational and deeply personal.

Jack Brooks is a recently retired President/CEO of a faith-based nonprofit organization and has spent years preserving and sharing his family’s legacy.

You can purchase food and drinks throughout the event. Enjoy fresh oysters from , along with fried seafood and other casual fare. Local beer from. will also be available.
