Join us on Saturday, August 8th for Pressed Seaweed Art, and discover the beauty of Delaware Bay’s marine environment during our August Adult Program by creating your own botanical-inspired artwork using pressed seaweed.
Learn about the fascinating seaweeds and marine algae found along the Delaware Bay shoreline while designing a one-of-a-kind framed keepsake to take home. You’ll explore the natural shapes, colors, and textures of these marine plants as you arrange them into a unique piece of art.
This relaxing, hands-on workshop combines creativity with coastal education. Along the way, you’ll learn how seaweed and marine algae support healthy aquatic ecosystems, provide habitat for marine life, and contribute to the ecological balance of the Delaware Bay.
No artistic experience is necessary—just bring your creativity! All materials, including pre-pressed seaweed and framing supplies, will be provided.
Whether you’re interested in local ecology, coastal history, or simply looking for a unique afternoon activity, this August Adult Program offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature while creating a beautiful keepsake inspired by the Delaware Bay.
Participants will leave with a framed pressed seaweed artwork and a greater appreciation for the remarkable marine plants that thrive along New Jersey’s Bayshore.
