DESCRIPTION:2nd Friday at Bayshore Center at Bivalve | August\nJoin us for 2nd Friday at the Bayshore Center at Bivalve on Friday\, August 14th from 5–8 PM for another evening of live music\, waterfront views\, local food\, and engaging history along the Delaware Bay. \nBring your friends and family to enjoy a relaxed night on the docks featuring live acoustic music\, fresh local oysters\, casual food favorites\, and a special guest speaker presentation highlighting habitat restoration and one of the Bay’s most iconic species—the horseshoe crab. \nLive Music\nEnjoy live acoustic music throughout the evening from Rob Roy Dup\, providing the perfect soundtrack for a summer night by the bay. \nAugust 2nd Friday Bayshore Guest Speaker\nMatthew E. Pisarski\, AICP\, PP\nAt 6:30 PM\, Matthew E. Pisarski\, Planning Director and Department Head for Cumberland County’s Department of Planning\, Tourism & Community Affairs\, will present “Skirmish on the Lower Maurice River.” \nIn 2014\, Cumberland County received a National Park Service American Battlefield Protection Program grant to study a Revolutionary War skirmish that occurred along the Maurice River near present-day Port Norris. Although the event was briefly mentioned in historical newspapers\, no comprehensive research had ever been conducted to determine what actually happened. \nLearn how historians and archaeologists used primary source research\, shoreline investigations\, and even ground-penetrating radar to uncover new information about this fascinating chapter of local history and the discoveries made through the project. \nFood & Drinks\nYou can purchase food and drinks throughout the event. Enjoy fresh oysters from Bivalve Packing Co.\, seafood from The Crab Guy Mobile Food Truck\, Oyster Cracker Café favorites including fried oysters\, fried flounder\, chicken fingers\, mac and cheese\, and more.
