DESCRIPTION:Join us July 2nd Friday\, July 14th\, 2023\, 5 pm – 8:30 pm. The Oyster Cracker Café will be serving fried oysters\, hot dogs and macaroni and cheese. Our raw bar will be open with fresh oysters from our premier sponsor Bivalve Packing.\nThank you to our Sponsors!\nBivalve Packing\nGlasstown Brewery\nCollins Iron Works Inc\nChemglass Life Sciences\, LLC\n\n \nMusic on the Docks!\nJeff Nowmos will be performing out on the docks during the evening.\nJeff Nowmos plays a large variety of recognizable hits from every decade.\nOn solo guitar. Beatles\, Steely Dan\, jazz\, country and more\n  \nSpeaker at 6:30: Join Shane Godshall\, American Littoral Society’s Habitat Restoration Project Manager as he returns to discuss an update on their project designed to protect the mouth of the Maurice River. \n \nWith community and stakeholder input\, the Littoral Society designed\, permitted\, and funded a multi-million dollar project intended to protect the river mouth from continued erosion. The highest-priority vulnerabilities are the focus of this 3-year phased approach that addresses these areas; Phase I involved the creation of a 600-foot hybrid rock revetment at the tip of Basket Flats this past year; Phase II\, the creation of 2\,000 feet of hybrid living shoreline breakwaters and subtidal oyster reefs/mussel beds at Basket Flats; and Phase III\, the creation of 4\,500 feet of hybrid living shoreline breakwaters and oyster reefs/mussel beds at Northwest Reach. Planting the marsh edge is also anticipated along with the seeding of ribbed mussels. The project will provide resilience and ecological uplift to the river mouth by protecting the marsh and creating new habitats\n  \nThe Delaware Bay Museum will be open for free self guided tours. The Meerwald Mercantile will be open featuring items from Art 2 Art\, Art for a Better World\, BeStill\, Golden Harvest Apiaries\, Lena Mills\, Handcrafted by Abraham Warren\, Meadows Edge Alpaca Farm\, Deb DiMarco and more!\nIn addition to fried oysters\, we will be featuring fresh\, local oysters on the half shell from Bivalve Packing and local wines and beer from the Glasstown Brewing Company.
